I did a lot of infographic design during my four years as Senior Designer at Astronomy magazine. It always meant finding a way to pack a LOT of information into a small package — usually a spread or two inside the magazine — and working with in-house illustrator Roen Kelly on the artwork, making sure it was accurate and fit the limited space provided. Here I used a simple grid system to divide the four ringed planets covered. Page design was done in Adobe InDesign, typography was simple due to the complex nature of the artwork. This spread was published in the August 2010 issue of Astronomy magazine.
