I was responsible for the layout, design and typography of this article appearing in the May 2012 issue of Astronomy magazine. In-house illustrator Kellie Jaeger created the opening collage. I took color cues from the lead artwork to create a palette that would tie the different sections of this story together. A combination of line-work guides the reader through the article and provides framework for a timeline that tracks with each chunk.
